Who is that handsome boy in the mirror!?
He may not be able to talk yet and tell me that he loves me, but now he gives kisses, and that is just as good for now! He puts his little slobbery hands on the sides of your face and pulls himself in towards you and rubs his mouth on your face, too cute! He also has become quite enamored with his reflection. Today we were playing and he was following his hands in the mirror and laughing and smiling at himself, and then he plants both of his hands on his reflection and leans forward mouth wide open and gives himself a kiss. Then, he leans back and smiles, quite pleased with himself and that handsome little boy in the mirror who keeps smiling at him. Now it stands, kisses for himself: 4 ; kisses for dad: 0

Hit yourself again Dad
A funny note to add from our trip... If you think your kids get joy out of your pain....they do. While down in Florida we were haning out by the pool cooking some dinner on the grill, when Justin went to sit down in a plastic patio chair. And those of you who know Justin know that at 6'4" he is no small guy. Well, he leaned his weight on to the arm of that poor chair and it snapped right off sending Justin to the ground. Well Wyatt who was sitting on my lap watching cracked up laughing!!! How a four month old knows this is funny? - I have no idea but he laughed so hard at his poor Daddy.

Open mouth insert everything

Well we have been back from our trip for almost two weeks now and I am just now finding the time to sit down and update! We had a great time and despite me being on edge about how Wyatt was going to be every step of the way, he did perfectly. A minute or two of crying on the plane here and there, but that's all. And even though some guy had the nerve to give me a dirty look, I decided it was best not to pinch Wyatt, so that he would cry harder :) It was great to see family down in Georgia and Florida, and take Wyatt on the boat and out to the farm, and boy oh boy does Wyatt love his Great Grandpa. Him and Papa took to each other right away and quickly became buddies. Hopefully we will be able to make the trip to Georgia often so they can continue to spend time together. After 10 warm relaxing days, Justin and I did consider just "missing" our flight, but decided it was best to return home. Now that we are back, Wyatt seems to be growing in leaps and bounds. He is teething, starting to eat some food, and laughing and smiling like crazy! And now everything he touches goes into his mouth! He is so much fun to be with though. I have started doing receptionist work for my Uncle Larry on weekday afternoons and I am lucky enough to be able to take Wyatt with me. I can't imagine having to leave him with someone else, even though it is just four hours I feel like I would miss so much. He makes me so proud though just being his happy content self all day long at the office, he makes me look good :)
Hope everyone is doing well and Happy Valentines Day to all!

I Don't Mind
I don't mind that my new Friday nights
are spent singing songs on the couch,
and I don't mind that Saturday mornings
I'm up before the sun.
And it doesn't bother me one bit
that none of my clothes are off limits to spit up.
I always wished for time to pass
and now I just want it to crawl.
Because I know my son wont always be this small,
and some day I'll miss it all.
I never thought I could be so happy and feel so complete,
my favorite days are spent with my two men and my dogs at my feet.
I never thought one day I would be rich,
but I am beyond my dreams.
My son, and my husband, have made my dreams come true,
and being a Mom may be hard work,
but there is nothing I'd rather do.

You don't choose your family. They are God's gift to you, as you are to them.

As 2008 draws to a close I think about what an amazing year this has been for our family. Starting way back in January, when we found out we were expecting - which wasn't a huge surprise, but exciting none the less! So following that, obviously for me that next nine months just dragged by. I spent the first three being best friends with the toilet, the next three trying to guess what was in there and find clothes that fit, and the last three walking all over town trying to get him to come out. And somewhere in the middle of that Justin and I celebrated our one year wedding anniversary, and our four year anniversary of when we started dating! And then....the moment we had all waited for, three days after my birthday, on September 20, we welcomed our son into the world after a wonderful 17 hour labor :) After that, in stark contrast to first nine months of the year, these last three have just flown by. Already Wyatt has hit so many milestones and has turned our world completely upside down, but in a very good way. This coming year has a lot in store for us, our son is going to be a coast to coast traveler before he is a year old! We look forward to seeing what each new day will bring and can only hope that 2009 will slow down just a little so that we can soak it all in. Here's wishing you and yours a Happy New Year.

Christmas!

To me the holiday's mean family, and when I think family I am reminded of how truly blessed we are. I can't imagine what Christmas would be like without our family nearby. We are fortunate enough to have both Justin's and my families here in town and we are able to see them often. Christmas Eve Justin had to work but Wyatt and I went to Justin's Grandparent's house for their Christmas celebration. Obviously Wyatt didn't know it was a party because he cried almost the whole time. There were a lot of people and he was passed around to a million different people so I don't blame him I would cry too! Christmas day was much better though, we spent the morning at home opening presents then went over to My parent's house for presents and dinner. I am so glad that as my brother's and I have gotten older that we have become good friends, and I actually look forward to getting together with them. Family is very important to me and I am glad that they are around to share the holidays together, and even though Charles is in Idaho this year we have stayed close. So overall we had a great Christmas and I am thankful for all the gifts I have in my life, my family, my health, and many wonderful friends to share this with. We hope all of you enjoyed your Christmas too!Thursday, December 18, 2008
