Spring Means Chicks

...and chicks mean squeals of absolute delight! Some little boys like cars and trucks, well my little boy loves animals, of any shape and size. A local feed company here has a chick barn every year, and yesterday after a late lunch with Justin's Dad, we headed over to check them out.

Wyatt ran, and he pointed, and he smiled and squealed. He stood on the very tips of his tip toes and peeked into every cage and waved his little hand at every one of those chicks, ducks, and turkeys. Justin held him up so he could see the ones above his head and told him what each one was. To which Wyatt would respond with the appropriate greeting, either "quack quack", "gobble gobble" or "bock bock."

He spent about 25 minutes going from cage to cage and peering in to see what was going on. I'm sure he would have loved to take a few home, and those baby geese sure tugged on my heartstrings, yet I don't think he would be as fond of them the first time they chased after him honking and flapping their wings!
